The Bulls traveled to Chester looking to defeat one of their top rivals for the regular season championship. The first time the two teams met, they went to overtime, with the Bulls winning by one point.
The Bulls dominated the first half, building a 20-8 halftime lead behind the lights out shooting of Walter Rivas, who scored six point in a second quarter explosion. They built a 15 point lead after three quarters with a balanced attack in the fourth.
Then the Nets came roaring back with timely shooting and a stifling defense. They climbed withing four points. Their full-court press had the Bulls pinned back in the backcourt, unable to break the press. It looked as if the lead would completely evaporate until Sawyer Kilgore stole the ball and went the length of the court for a layup to build the lead back to six points, which is where it remained.
Sawyer Kilgore finished the game with eight points. Beyond the scoring, his leadership was crucial down the stretch. He remained calm and did what needed to be done to win the game.
Walter Rivas had his best game as a Bull, adding six points to his always strong defense and rebounding. Devon Levine chipped in with a key bucket and again rebounded like a person twice his size.
The Bulls, now 8-1 and sporting a six game winning streak will face the Cavaliers in the season finale.
